Our crock lids are made of hand-finished glazed stoneware that prevents open-air contamination and keeps mold and aerobic bacteria from tainting your fermenting food. It protects food during the fermentation process, as well as protecting any food stored inside the crock in the kitchen or pantry. It is made of the same durable material as the crocks. The lip on the lid holds it securely in place.
When purchasing our crocks, covers, and weights, please keep in mind that we carry six sizes of Ohio Stoneware preserving crocks, weights, and covers. Lid size and weight size should match the crock size, (I.e., 1 gallon lid pairs with the 1 gallon crock, and the 1 gallon weight set pairs with the 1 gallon crock). Available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 gallon sizes.
