Summary:

We offer a "Combo Pack" that consists of a female and a male Sacro Wedgy®. This allows you to try both sizes to get the best fit for you.

The difference in the male and female sacrum is, the male sacrum is longer and more narrow then the shorter, wider female sacrum. Some taller women have a longer, narrower torso and need to order the male. We've also noted some women, regardless of height, that haven't had children may be narrower in the hips. The Sacro Wedgy® needs to go between the hips - not sit on top. The design is to mimic the hand as it is used in a number of therapy techniques where the therapist places the hand under the sacrum and elevates.

The Sacro Wedgy® is used by a variety of therapists or as self care for quicker recovery from back strains and pulls. The concept of balance is not new. The Sacro Wedgy® is based on a technique that an osteopath was using back in the 1950's which is when a football coach from Louisiana started using his hand to hold the sacrum. Over time, this led him to invent the Sacro Wedgy® for the convenience of self care and as a tool for a therapist using the same technique. The Sacro Wedgy® is an innovative tool designed to cradle, elevate and isolate the sacrum (keystone of the anatomy) allowing gravity to help surrounding muscles relax. A neck support is very important so we found it necessary to design a cervical roll that compliments the Sacro Wedgy® creating a natural dual traction.

* The Sacro Wedgy® is a sacral stabilizer designed to isolate, cradle and elevate the sacrum, holding it in a neutral position to help relax tight muscles and restore balance from the hips to the neck. For instance, if the piriformis muscle is too tight it could involve the sciatic nerve. Relax the muscle, release the nerve.

* When used with a neck support, the Sacro Wedgy® creates a gentle "dual traction" that allows gravity to do the work.

* The system is not designed to be a quick fix but a daily therapy routine to allow muscles to slowly and naturally return to balance.

Simply place the Sacro Wedgy® at the base of your spine under the sacrum and lie down, and relax with support added under your neck. Both ends of the spine are stabilized to create a natural traction which allows gravity to take over to help muscles relax into alignment. This is not a quick fix. One comparison would be when a dentist puts braces on your teeth, the alignment process takes place over time. You can also sit on the Sacro Wedgy® for the convenience of self care and preventing symptoms from reoccurring - as very often a bucket seat is what started the whole process of being out of balance.
